2.0 RC5 SSI is_logged / is_guest Problem

I have been using this function with ease while I was using 1.1.13 but now that I upgraded to 2.0 RC5, JUST the is_logged or is_guest function tell me that I'm a guest regardless of me being logged in or not. The php file I am using to do this is in the same directory as SSI.php and yes it is included. I also set the cookie settings so that the cookies are usable regardless of the subdomain or whatever but still doesn't work. Any ideas?

By the way, even in the ssi_examples.php, it returns that I am a guest so... wow
