using old db with fresh install

hey there

i have recently moved host and would like to use my old DB with my new hosts ive uploaded the DB and im about to install SMF but how do i link the two together

A little bit more information would be great :s

In general, install SMF in the same version as the DB-back-up is from.
import your old database in this fresh install.
upgrade to the SMF-version you want to use.
