Illori

there is a reason to use a code bbc code and it is not to allow someone to have a clickable link, doing so would require a lot of coding a rewriting of how the bbc code parser works.

this mod:

This modification will turn every live link on your forum to a code.

Note that this mod will make all links on your forum completely unclickable!

i want a mod who do every code link to clickable link

I think he/she/it means something like this is possible:

[code][url]http://ohi.com/[/url][/code]

As in, a nested URL BBCode in a [code] tag

right and that defeats the whole purpose of the code tag, this has been gone over before and there were reasons that this was never completed.

kat

I'm not even sure he administrates an SMF forum.

My guess is that he visits a wa*ez forum and doesn't like their code tags. ;)

If it IS for his own forum, I'd suggest using the word censoring to replace the code tags with blanks.

For copy-pasta'ing the links? Quite familiar with that (*points to someone random)

Putting links in pasta? ;)

Of course, I'm only guessing, because I know nothing of such sites, myself.

Kinda, it's like sticking them to the download program and then force it to download the link :P

I wrote that mod because I wanted to make links unclickable. I can modify it for you if you want.

Can I ask "Why?".

That kinda defeats the whole object of code tags.

which is exactly what i said ;)

kat

Yeah.

But, maybe there's a use for them that we haven't considered. ;)

Problem is, this kinda thing screams "WA*EZ!", to me.

I'm not entirely sure that we want to got there...

The reason is that the webmaster can get money from" site sale " when the visitors click the links to buy premium account.Because of the [c0de] tag visitors have to copy the links to the browser and then open it,but the webmaster can't get paid

People can still copy/paste, even if the links aren't in code tags.

If you want to disable code tags, entirely, you can use word-censoring, to achieve that, I believe.

I'll check and post back.

kat

Yep. Works perfectly. :)

Use the word censor to change all  [code] and [/code] tags to [pre] and [/pre].   ;)

What would the {pre} thing do, then, out of curiosity?

OO! Never used that.

Can't see the point, really.

I'm probably missing something, me being a bit dense... ;)

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

I never use it either, but I thought if you'd have to replace Code with something, then it'd be Pre IMO.

Illori

well cant you use a quote tag too? it would also change the format slightly and allow the url to be clicked.

or even better just uncheck the use of code bbc?

Damn... Forgot that...

Bugger.

+1 for the girlies.

Thing is if you do not use the [code] tags, you can't format PHP code AFAIK ::)

<?php
echo 'Ohi, this is something that\'s parsed in PHP';
?>

<?php
echo 'Ohi, this is something that\'s parsed in PHP';
?>

Just pointing out, not sure if the OP is looking to put PHP inside their posts.

And you never encountered the PHP tag:
<?php
echo 'Ohi, this is something that\'s parsed in PHP';
?>

The OP uses code tags to mark download links and just doesn't want the Code: [Select] bit if I'm any judge...

That too, but that does not parse links either.

<?php
echo 'Ohi, this is something that\'s parsed in PHP with a http://www.link.com/';
?>
