I have a new "Index" file I would like to have as a new home page that "Mysitename.com" would be.
I am using ADK Portal and it has an independent mode where I can change the "home" and "portal" pages to. Thing is I dont know how to set the new "index" file to load on the new home page. Any help?

You'll find that most don't know ADK Portal here. You should probably ask the author of that portal how to do this.
