This is a much simpler idea then before. Is there a Custom Tab Mod for RC5? Non emmulators

did you check the mod site? there should be a few mods that can attempt to do what you want. but some may need version emulation as not all mod authors are updating their mods for each version until 2.0 goes gold.

Custom Tab by Deprecated should work but also worth checking out the tab mods by Hadesflames and JohnCcCcCc.
