Password text & background same color in Snake theme

Setting up my first SMF and chose the "Snake" theme. All is well so far except on the registration screen. Most text input boxes are a black background with white text, but the password & password confirm boxes are white text on a white bg making it tough to confirm input.

I am no CSS whiz, but inspecting the elements shows that the password boxes have some overriding style attribute that the other boxes do not have.

If it matters, it is an invite only board and this registration screen is when one responds to the invite.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Have a read through this:

If there's nothing there, try posting in that topic, coz it's the support topic for that theme. ;)

Hmm...I went and installed that theme on a test site and the fields are a black background and the inputted text is white. Might you have changed the CSS or maybe are calling up another one? Or a mod is doing it? Have a link to your site?

Mind attaching your Themes/default/Register.template.php file?

I did look in there and found the input boxes around line 132, but did not see any style attribute attached.

<td>
                     <input type="password" name="passwrd1" id="smf_autov_pwmain" size="30" tabindex="', $context['tabindex']++, '" />
                     <span id="smf_autov_pwmain_div" style="display: none;">
                        <img id="smf_autov_pwmain_img" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/icons/field_invalid.gif" alt="*" />
                     </span>
                  </td>
               </tr><tr>
                  <td width="40%">
                     <b>', $txt[82], ':</b>
                  </td>
                  <td>
                     <input type="password" name="passwrd2" id="smf_autov_pwverify" size="30" tabindex="', $context['tabindex']++, '" />
                     <span id="smf_autov_pwverify_div" style="display: none;">
                        <img id="smf_autov_pwverify_img" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/icons/field_valid.gif" alt="*" />
                     </span>
                  </td>

Cool, yeah. That's what I was looking at too. Here's how that's being generated in FF:
<td>
<input type="password" tabindex="3" size="30" id="smf_autov_pwmain" name="passwrd1" style="background-color: rgb(255, 240, 240);">
<span style="" id="smf_autov_pwmain_div">
<img alt="Password is too short" src="PATHREMOVEDBUTTHATISOK" title="Password is too short">
</span>
</td>

Wish I knew where this was coming from:
style="background-color: rgb(255, 240, 240);" I did a quick search through it for background-color, but nothing relevant came up in the support topic. I am a little stumped.

A simple link to the site could fix this issue but since you seemingly refuse to post one, good luck.  But I will say that you are both looking in the wrong area as it is a css issue. ;)

Yes, I realize a link would help out for sure. If the OP wants to give one out, that's fine with me but I won't do it. It's definitely a CSS issue, but here is the declaration for it:
input, textarea, button {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #132C00;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    font-family: verdana,sans-serif;
}
Based on the output though, that style thing is being added by JavaScript or something. Maybe it's a ghost.

The issue is surly a css issue that is conflicting with a mod. The OP could avoid all of this needless file checking if a link was posted.
But, some like to take the long road and there is nothing wrong with that if one needs the exercise.   ;D

The site is hxxp:club.colorclad.com [nonactive]

Wasn't refusing a link, just thought that since it was set up as invite only, a direct link would not help.

It all seems fine on my end using FF and IE. I am getting #132C00 for the background and #FFFFFF for the text. I am thinking a browser conflict. What browser are you using? Have you tried a different browser?

input, textarea, button {
    background: none repeat scroll 0 0 #132C00;
    color: #FFFFFF;
    font-family: verdana,sans-serif;
}

ARG I think the issue is the actual registration form input boxes which we can't view as the site is invitation only and I think you need a invite key to get to the registration form.

ARG, you logged in right after I uninstalled the Auto Verification 1.0 Package. That seems to be the culprit. I tested on my end (via Safari) and all is well.

I will go to the board for that package and point out the conflict.

Thank you everybody for your time & efforts. Makes me feel good about choosing SMF knowing there is a "rapid Response Team" in the wings.
