rename Groups

how can i rename groups or how can i move all groupmembers to an other group and then delete the old empty group ?

First: NEVER RENAME DEFAULT GROUPS

after that, you'll have to add the specific members to usergroup you want manualy.
And ofcourse you'll have to remove them from the old group manualy.

Admin - Members - Membergroups - Edit Membergroups I think it is.

Is this true? If so is it a bug (for 2.1) that they can be renamed? Should that field be read-only for default groups?

the default group regular members can not be renamed which is by default, there is no bug that you can rename some of the groups and 2.1 is not even in beta status so i guess you are talking about 2.0. some groups can be renamed others can not as it may break the forum.

in 2.0 you can rename any/all of those with no problems. in 1.1.1* you can rename newbie with no problems.
