Is there an option to have a password protected board?

You can limit access to any board using membergroup permissions.

Does that mean I have to pay $10 a year for the code or wtf that doesn't make sense.

I host ORG games on my forum, so I need the actual process of entering passwords.

It mean if there are any updated to the mod within your subscription you will have access to those updates from the mod author, once you pay for and have the mod installed its yours to use as long as you please.

There's a mod already for this

http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?action=parse

but during ./Sources/BoardIndex.php

Find:
IFNULL(mods_mem.ID_MEMBER, 0) AS ID_MODERATOR, mods_mem.realName AS modRealName

there is nothing like that listed.. i'm using 2.0 RC5

you'll also see that mod is for SMF1.1x not 2.0

It won't work on 2.0 RC5 as it's not compatible with. I've updated and sent it to the mod site 5 months ago but still waiting.

Nope, you need to wait until it gets approved.

Why to bother with passwords? You give access to specific membergroups.
If you have subscribers you can automatically assign them to that membergroup.

Illori

there is a queue of other mods that have been submitted each one has to be reviewed, this one will get reviewed as well. It may take time but it will get reviewed.

My forum is basically hosting different games, and I need password boards for certain tasks and such.

5 months for getting approved a mod? No, thanks :) 2 months ago it's removed from the queue because I didn't reply within 7 days, and just the day after they sent me a notification of removal, I've updated it but it wasn't on the approval queue until today, before I send a PM about that. So ...
Everyone can make mistakes but 2 months ...
