I appreciate that aishaweb.  I suppose I could do one sometime if I get some time but I would want it to be as comprehensive as the guide you did (with images and everything) and geared towards a new user who really doesn't know much about SMF and databases.  I would have to try to think of all the questions that a new user would need to know in order to do it.  The one you did is very nice.

Well, off topic but yeah, I did that too and had to reset my Photobucket PW a couple of days ago myself.  Of course, I knew which EMail addy I had used to create the account so it was easy.

I made the new database but can't figure out how to get the backup in the right place.

I finally found PhpMyadmin in the control pannel and I am now uploading the file to the new database.
I hope it go's well now.
Going to walk the dogs in the mean time. almost time for bed to.

yes I did it thanks for al your help.

I was trying phpPGadmin by mistake thinking it was phpmyadmin and couldn't get in that.
this evening I saw my mistake and then it was very simple.
