no primary usergroup for new registrations

Hello all,

I upgraded to rc5, origionally converted vbulletin 3.8.4 database to smf 1.1.13,

any new registrations seem to go into no primary usergroup automatically?

I dont want to have to manually assign a membersgroup for each member that joins,

does anyone know why new registrations are not going into any primary usergroup? i tried to find a setting and cant find one anywhere,

What i want is any new members that sign up to go into a specified members group,
