Upgrading

Hi all,

I am messing with 1.1.13 atm my first time with SMF and so very new to me and was thinking about upgrading to 2R5 so is there anywhere i can find out what changes are from 1.1.xx to 2R5 please, i understand this R5 is still in testing and so is my board it wont be open for some months yet so wondering is it worth my while to change over now before i make it public.
Allot of the Mods i want to use i cannot because they are for R5 like colour legend and so on, i am not a advanced user so although editing codes is simple to must people on here its very frustrating and difficult for someone new like me, I see a mod i would like only to find it its compatible with 2R4/2R5 grrr

Also im using Cpanel11 with hostpapa and one simple click and it installed 1.1.xx for me so wondering how simple is upgrading ?

Well, the upgrade its not that complicated,  since 2.0 final release is very close I advice to wait until it is released and then do the upgrade.

two things needs to be done to do the upgrade:


1.- Back up your files and database, this is important since there's no official way to go back once upgraded.

2.- follow this tut:  Upgrading SMF  that will give you everything you need to know to be able to perform the upgrade.
