Any way to randomise the news fader in 2.0 RC5?

Hello.

I am trying to find a way to randomise the news items in the "news fader" in 2.0 RC5, but can't find an option to do so (I want to use it as a "quote of the day" instead of news). Am I missing something or do I have to edit the code to make it happen? I have a bit of experience with PHP but don't know where to start looking!

I have spent hours trying various mods for the news fader and "quote of the day" mods but none of them seem to work in either 2.0 or my template (I am not using Curve). To reiterate, the news fader works perfectly, but it won't randomise.

Hope someone can help me restore my sanity!

I belive that this mod can help with your ploblem, and it works with RC5 version:

Hello and thanks for the reply.

I had tried that one (both auto set up and manually adjusting the Subs.php file) and couldn't get it to work. However this morning, it now seems to be behaving as intended! Could be a browser refresh issue or similar, but not sure to be honest?

Anyway all is now well, so thanks very much and to the author of the mod too.
