Can't upgrade beyond SMF 1.1.11

For the first time, I have not been able to upgrade my installation. It has been this way for some time, hoping it would magically change, but I'm resorting to posting here for a little assistance.

./Sources/Subs-Package.php    Test Failed

is the only file which fails while testing the patch to upgrade from 1.1.11 to 1.1.12. I have customized just a few php source files over the years. That could be the problem. Also, I had only one mod installed "Anti-spam verfication 1.01", installed a few years ago when spam sign-ups were a particular problem. I uninstalled it (did not delete) successfully, but the update to 1.1.12 still fails on Subs-Package.php. I would like to get caught up to 1.1.13.

Any advice/help is appreciated.
