Evening Folks,

Im getting reports of our forum running slow, this appears to be limited to those with a BT ISP. Ive tried disabling host look up, which has made no difference, the host advises no server issues, which is also backed up by the problem being limited to one ISP. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Thank you!  ;)

Any chance of a link to your forum?

Otherwise, we're kinda working blind, with this one.

Fair whippin' along, for me.

Now, if I had a website that stopped BT users using it, I'd consider that a result! ;)

I'm not, so it's gonna be difficult to reproduce the problem.

Do you have any mods installed?

LOL!! fair  point  ;D Im not BT either (thankfully) so I cant see the problem either. Nothing showing in error logs.

The following mods are installed, with the exception of "enotify" which was installed post problem, the rest have been installed for quite some time with no problems.

Users Online Today Mod    1.4.0
Custom Profile Field Mod    3.16
AjaxChat Integration    3.2.1
MessagePreviewOnHover    1.5
ENotify    2.0

Curious...

It can't be bans, because that would ban them, not slow them down.

It's...

Well...

WEIRD!

I bet they all use IE too.

(BT customers are like that) ;)

mm3973

LOL predictable it would seem , the two I discussed it with both use IE, both also tried it with FF & Chrome, reporting a slight improving which you would expect anyway, but still exceptionally sluggish  ???

catfished

Zips along great here, using Firefox 3.6.17, running an old version of Unbuntu and not a BT user.

It might be that those users have route problems.

i.e. the route from their computers to your forum's.

See if you can get them to try this:

Thanks catfished & K@ -

Had suggested this to members yesterday, although they were hesitant to follow it in case it was some evil instruction which would result in a direct link with NASA or sommat

Ya can lead a horse to water  ::)

Yet they use IE... Which is 100% secure....
