The total doesn't match with the ammount of votes. Is this because I allowed guest voting? Look at pic

Try running forum maintenance.

Admin -> Forum Maintenance -> Find and repair any errors
Also while you're there, Recount all forum totals and statistics.

Tried it allready. Didn't work.

That's strange.... It could be because of guest voting - I'm not sure how it tracks the number of votes though...

I see you are now support lead! Congratz!

Any idea what we can do about it?

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

For now the best thing I can come up with, is to test this ( I will ) and try to find out how that happened in the first place, and then work from there ( make a bug report etc. if it seems to be an apparent bug ).

What to do to fix your poll count - I'm unsure really, as I don't know exactly how it keeps count...
Will have to look in to that as well.

Ok, thanks! Looking foreward to see what you come up with :)

As I'm not sure I can find the time to dig in to this right now, I also made a post about this to the beta testers and team to see if someone else has time to do this faster.
If not, I'll try and look in to this in the next couple of days with some thought ;)

No problem! No need to rush things ;)

Just tried this on my test board and couldn't reproduce the issue. Try it yourself at http://smf.oldiesmann.us/index.php/topic,8423.0.html. I voted for one option while logged in and voted for the other option as a guest.

I did a fast test just now myself (on my existing forum) and even though it's easy for one guest to make multiple votes from the same computer, it doesn't allow multiple votes in a row still, and I was unable to fool the counter for now... I made a few votes from one computer, and a few from another - and then I voted as a registered user - all in all, I have now 8 individual votes, and the total shows 8 as well.

I will be looking in to this more, hopefully tomorrow, to see if I can figure out that might happen.

I should notice that I am still on RC5. Have there been bugs fixed related to the poll function in the final version?

Aleksi "Lex" Kilpinen

Looking at the changelog, I see nothing that would obviously be related - but that doesn't automatically mean something couldn't have changed...

Also, I have Simple Portal installed. I let people vote using the poll block. Could that be related?

Now - That certainly could have something to do with it, good to know, I'll test that too when I get around to testing this further.

I just opened an new poll on my site. Maybe it is nice to keep track of it a bit. It is in Dutch though...

I would love to test that out, and vote once through the topic and once through the portal - but I don't wish to mess the results.
But do keep an eye on it.
