Not sure if my forum is sending emails properly, how do I check?

I'm not sure if my forum is sending emails... Like topic notifications, newsletters, etc etc to members. How do I check to see if it indeed sending  out emails as it should?

Within "Newsletters" in the Administration Center, send a newsletter to only yourself.  If you receive the e-mail, everything is working fine.
