I see the same thing in FF3.5 and IE8 - only the 'Add Poll' button is missing.  Cursor is clean in both.  Register another account as regular member, see how it looks, then change it to admin and see if the problem recurs.

interestingly enough, by doing what you suggested... it worked... sorta...

like you say, the add poll image is missing.

so what would you recommend i do at this point:
the profile i use is the original from day one.

Does the new account work the same as regular member or admin?

okay, im gonna go out on a limb, but first the backstory.

ever since i started using smf...

english utf8 has ALWAYS mucked up the forum ie missing text, unselectable boxes etc...

so finally i simply got tired of it hassling me, so i deleted all language files except english.

TODAY:

im looking in my database, in the members files.

and i notice me, my wife, and a couple others, have the english utf8 language string.

and all the members that do have this string... we were all registered in the first 15 user id's.... after that i had removed utf8 as an option.

if this is the case, how would i go about changing the few of us, back to simple 'english'?

Can you edit the member settings?  I can't find the utf8 option anywhere in 1.1.13, and there are no utf8 language files in my default install.  There's a default language option in Core Config, but the only choice is English.  If it's only a handful of accounts, you can ask the members to re-register, and set up a new admin account for yourself.  Maybe someone else can come up with a db fix.

i noticed in the database....

when i opened up my db profile, the box appears editable, to where i could simply backspace to delete the -utf8, then hit save.

but im not doin it unless i get confirmation  ROFL.

Register a new admin account, then try the edit on the old one and see what happens.

well i'll be damned!!!

thanks so much for the help troubleshooting.

apparently you can lead this horse to water....

that did it.

i went in and edited all of us who had utf8 string attached.

now i can modify the images to better suit my layout.

and add the add poll button  ;)
