Slow Confirmation E-mails

I've noticed that my website takes a while to send confirmation emails. What might be the reason for this?

Most likely, your host has a setting that does that.

Give them a nudge and see what they say.

Well they said that it all depends on how loaded the server is, and that there is nothing that they could do about it unless I wanted to get off of a shared server and on to my own server (for 30 dollars a month). I don't have the money to do that right now so I guess I'm out of luck. Kinda sucks because that is how people come back to my site.

Also I sent myself a email conformation and it still hasn't gotten to me. So it's pretty slow....
