Can I change the:
Karma applaud label and Karma smite label
To Images?

With a mod, sure. I believe this one might be best (depending on your forum version of course):

I haven't looked lately, but I swear you could change the label for those words in the admin panel...

you can change the labels in the admin panel, but i am not sure if they take bbc or html in the fields.

Yes, you can add HTML to that field to make images.
