is there a Mod that automatically inserts keywords meta tag based on the post's content.

At the moment I get the <meta name="keywords" content="PHP, MySQL, bulletin, board, free, open, source, smf, simple, machines, forum" />  one on all posts.

Not sure there's a mod, but you could change that line to something like this:
    <meta name="keywords" content="', $context['page_title'], '" />
I think you'll find meta keywords a rather useless and waste of your time though :)

Sorry again but how do I do this?

I am used to a wysiwyg webmaster program and this code thing is confusing me.

I don't think you'll find any mod to extract good keywords from a page (multiple posts in a topic) and place them in the the <meta keywords> tag. That would be quite an exercise in Artificial Intelligence and language recognition. You can certainly do better than the standard fixed keyword set that you listed, but remember that any search spider will read through the posts themselves anyway to extract keywords. Putting the post title or page title, some common keywords for your forum subject area, and maybe the board and categories into the keywords tag may be about the best you'll be able to automate.

As pointed out, many search engines (especially the 800 pound gorilla, Google), ignore keyword tags because of abuse by webmasters. It's not worth putting much effort into a keywords meta tag unless you can closely tailor it to your material and you're more interested in some of the smaller search engines that still pay attention to this tag.
