Morn All,

I am using the default theme for SMF 1.1.13 and need a little help.  When you first go to the site there are 2 info bars below the banner.  The top one has the time and after you log in it says your username & info.  The lower one has "Welcome Guest" Please Login, Register Or Conctact Us.  I would like to remove the lower info bar and move the only Welcome Guest to the top bar with the time on it.  Once you log in there is only the Info Bar which has the time and user info which is what I would like all the time.

I have found the part of the code that handles that area in the index.template.php and can manipulate it some, but just can't get it right.  You can see how it looks as a guest which might help you understand better at www.thedallascowboysgang.com

Any help would be appreciated.

The lower one is a block within SimplePortal. Just need to remove that one. By doing that, I'm wondering if you need to do anything else?

Morn mashby and thanks for the quick response.

I have compared the code to the original index.template.php file and they are the same in this area so I don't think that it is a SP block.  I just don't remember if it was like it before I installed SP but I think it was, just never worried about it.

I'm rather confident the User Info block is a Simple Portal block as that isn't part of the default theme setup. The one above it certainly is part of the default theme setup though. You won't find code for the User Info block in index.template.php. So if you remove that block, I'm wondering if that's what you're after?

mashby, I have attached the section of code from the original index.template.php file for you to take a look at.  You have much more experience than me in this so maybe by looking at it you can help me out.

Everything looked lined up when I saved it using notepad ++ but not sure how it will look with other editors.

Once again,  thank you.

Give this bit a whirl in place of the partial bit you supplied. :) I think it'll work.

Well mashby, going to have to call it quits for a bit.  I installed the changes and it moved the welcome part up and left the lower block blank and a little smaller.  I was able to remove the top block while playing around with everything.

I appreciate your time and when I get back and work on it some more I will post the results just in case others have an issue.

Morn All,

Thank you for your assistance mashby.  I found the line creating the second block and moved the Welcome Guest to the intended place.  I will mark this as resolved.
