Install an older Mod on a newer SMF

Hey guys, I have been wondering if I can install an older Mod which says it support up till SMF 2.0 RC3 on SMF 2.0 RC5 forum?

Some do let you, some don't. However it isn't always advised to do so, as it may be incompatible with higher versions.

you can use version emulation to attempt to install mods on other versions, but this does not guarantee that they will install correctly or work well due to the changes in later versions.

It all really depends on the mod, and what parts of the code it edits. There is no universally true answer to your question.
The Version emulating may work, may not.
