Hello everybody,

I have a problem with a forum of which I am a frequent user. The colour of unread topics is orange against a grey brown background and very difficult to read. I asked the admin to change it but he doesn't know how to do it. I'm asking in his place because he doesn't speak English.

We don't want to change anything else, just the colour of unread topics. Dark brown would be fine, or any dark colour. Black would not be OK because we would loose the differentiation between read and unread topics.

Please tell me how to do this (links welcome).

Thank you.

Hi, Mariane!

Welcome to the forum, too!

With themes, they have support topics, which you can access from the theme's page, here.

If you post, there, they'll be able to help you.

I was going to find it, for you. But, as you don't say which theme it is, I can't. :(

There's probably something in the theme's index.css file, which controls that colour.

index.css is inside the theme's "css" directory.

Illori

also if you post a link to the forum someone may be able to inspect the theme and tell you what to change more easily.

ManojA

Can u send me the forum link? so that i can see it in firebug.

Thank you all for being so responsive  :D

The forum is here: hxxp:www.lesfilsdodin.com/forum/index.php [nonactive]

IS this happening in Boards only (where topic list is shown)? If yes then attach this file here

themes\<your theme>\Display.template.php (If you can file there then attach the one from default theme)

In style.css, it looks like they're coloured as:

color: #FF8A00

That's what needs to be changed, I believe.

Illori

yes it does, but we cant find that color in the themes default files from the theme site or in the css file for that theme on their site.

ManojA

Ya thats what. Even I can't find Where the css code is placed  although firebug gives a hint of #FF8A00

Illori

it must be in the source files for the theme, so we need the exact files from the server in order to change this color.

Color is in theme file most probably.

not really, looks like the person that edited the theme was not a fan of css and just edited the theme files instead, but this should not be hard to fix once we get the files ;)

At least Mariane spells "Colour" properly... ;)

I received his answer. The theme is "Endar". His file is called "index.template.php" and he says it's a very big file.
Should I ask him to send it to me by email so I can post it here?

Mariane

Illori

we need display.template.php as stated here, not index.template.php and yes please post the file as an attachment to your next post.
