What will happen if i use large upgrade package for 2.0 RC5 with same version ??

I have Smf 2.0 RC5 version installed. I am having so much problems after i migrated to my VPS . Now i think using large upgrade package will sort out some of those.
Can you please tell me if i use large upgrade package what will happen ?
What about posts and boards ? they will be there obviously?

It should work just fine.

Please make sure you take a full backup of your forum and specially database, before running the upgrade, though.
