Archive board help

hey... i've got an archive board that i set up in about april, it was using the version of smf that was back then... not sure what version taht was...

anyway i archived my site that crashed with a database back up from october of last year (i had lost all posts from october to april) anyway it worked at the time, but my archive database seems to be linked somehow to my current database... ihave no idea how (probably cause i just renamed the database and uploaded it for a different forum location)

anyway it wasn't working so i thought i would upgrade the archive site to the current smf standard to see if it works... the install went fine however i can't get into any things, i have this error coming up and i was wondering if anyone could possibly help with it...

whenever i click on a thread i get this

Unknown column 'b.permission_mode' in 'field list'

That means it's looking for a column called permission_mode (in the {$db_prefixe}boards table), but such a column doesn't exist. Run upgrade.php to upgrade your database and it should work just fine.

Is there anyway to set SMF up so users can download message archives?
