Hello,

Ever since these past few weeks I'm getting hit by so many spammers and forum posts, signing up left and right. I want to know what the best way is to stop them from spaming.

Also an easier way to delete multiple members / forum posts fast

There isn't a single "best" anti-spam mod.  What may work better for one is not so good for another, etc.
One of the better ones is httpBL. You will need an account at Project Honeypot, but the mod stops a huge amount of spammers before they can even register.
If you are using SMF 2.0 adding at least one, preferably several verification questions to your registration process also helps stop the bots. It works better if your question(s) pertain to your forum so that only real prospective members can answer them.  Don't make them so hard that even normal humans can't answer them either though.  :)  If using 1.1.x, there is a mod available to add the verification questions function to your forum as well.
I also use Stop Spammer, and Bad Behavior.  I have had less than a dozen spammers in the last almost 2 years.
Do not depend on capcha. It is easily broken by bots.
Look through the mods available to see what is available here.
