Following upgrading from 1.1.14 to 2.00 I was reaching a blank page which needed refreshing to reach SMF, which is installed in a subdirectory of a website on shared hosting. After trying to resolve myself and searching this board to no avail, I asked my host for support who resolved the issue by enabling a function - shell_exec.

SMF attempts to use shell_exec, but doesn't require it (as of version 2.0)

How should disable_functions be set in php.ini for SMF 2 to function or would there have been another reason as to why I was reaching a blank page (I did search this board, but couldn't find anything relevant)?
