Hello,

I am struggling with the permissions feature on my forum.

I would like my Quests who are not currently registered to be able to View a certain category, and to be able to read the topics within the category, but to not see any other categories on my forum.

Obviously if they was registered they would have full access.

How would i do this?

thanks

set proper permissions on which boards guests/regular members, check/uncheck which boards they can view.

not sure what you mean by "proper" permissions :/

when you edit the group you can set the permissions for who can view each board, or you can do it when you edit each board in the admin panel, this would be "proper" for what you need.

Where is this in the admin panel?

Ive been scanning everywhere, i cannot see any permissions which allow the users to view a forum :(

either modify the member groups [under membergroups] or edit the boards [under boards]

Ah i see it. It's strange tho seeming as it doesnt have a Quest group, and i cannot make one for Quests, seeming as the requirements doesnt suit the quest group.

then you can edit the boards and set which are visible to guests or not.

How do i allow certain member groups to post in certain categories but not all?

I edit a groups permissions for one board, and it sets them for every board :/

you would need to create a permissions profile for each board and set the permissions for each. this may require the use of denying permissions depending on how you have things setup.

Spoogs

You need to create permission profiles and assigns those to the boards.

Admin>> Members>> Permissions>> Edit Profiles
In a permission profile you can set the permissions you want each membergroup to have.

You can change a boards permission profile by modifying the board
Admin>> Forum>> Boards>> Modify Boards... click modify next to the board you would like to modify and look for 'Permission Profile'

Edit... ninja'd by Illori
