Hi , this is probably in the wrong place , but I need help, have just uninstalled the chatroom button, as I had ajax "chat" button & a chatroom button, so I thought I could remove the chatroom button, but when I uninstalled it I can only see the banner of the forum ( britsinbulgaria ) & the tab buttons & my avatar, but none of the tabs work & this error message is underneath.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function show_chatroomButton() in /home/buster/RQXN4V59/htdocs/britsinbulgaria.co.uk/forum/Sources/Load.php(1766) : eval()'d code on line 602
Can anyone help me, have contacted the host provider, but I don't know what I have done wrong.

Illori

you are best to post in the support thread for the mod that is causing the issue.

Hi Illori, I have posted elswhere as suggested by you, just to up date though, have been in touch with the host provider & although they have been prompt with replies, this was the e mail I recieved today
LainaaI have restored the file from our backups taken on the 21st and 20th and the error still appears. The file timestamp seems to be 16th June so I guess this is when it was last modified. Unfortunately our backups font go that far back so I cant restore from before this date.
I just don't know what to do now, I only installed the chatroom last week, but because I installed Ajax Chat as well I had two chatroom buttons/ tabs, so I decided that as it was confusing our members, i would uninstall the chatroom one & just leave the chat one.
Now all I get when I go to the forum is the following message
Fatal error: Call to undefined function chatonlineusers() in /home/buster/RQXN4V59/htdocs/britsinbulgaria.co.uk/forum/Sources/BoardIndex.php on line 349
Is there anything I can do or suggest to the Host Provider ?.
Many thanks.

Illori

you would be best at this point to upload all the files from the large upgrade package and start with fresh files, otherwise there is no easy solution.

Thanks for the reply, do you mean upgrading to SMF 2 , will this restore my forum ?.

Illori

you can find 1.1.14 files in the archive if you want to keep with that version

dreamers4317

Hi, thanks again, as you probably gather I am a complete novice when doing anything like this, so would it be best for me to upgrade to SMF 2 or stick with 1.1.14, would seem to me an ideal time ( if somewhat forced on me ) to upgrade. Sorry to ask again, but will all my forum still be there ( wherever it's gone ?).
Many thanks again.

Illori

it is your choice, keep in mind that any mods you had for 1.1.1* would need to updated to 2.0 also your theme would most likely need to be replaced with one that works with 2.0

Upgrading SMF

LainaaSorry to ask again, but will all my forum still be there ( wherever it's gone ?).
I think I,m going to be sticking with SMF 1.1.14 for now, just to keep things as simple as possible, is it a fairly straightforward process ?.

Just to add to my last post, will my forum still be there...ie: by doing this, will it recover my site ?.
I will not do anything until I have it confirmed that I am using the correct files. I take it that I upload these to my host provider ?.

Hi Again, well thanks to the support from my Host Provider ( Inventive Hosting ) the site is back, but on the home page I,m getting this message.......................
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'WHE' at line 4
File: /home/buster/RQXN4V59/htdocs/britsinbulgaria.co.uk/forum/Sources/BoardIndex.php

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.14, while your database is at version 1.1.11. The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.
Can someone tell me what I have to do now please.
