I'm having a log-in problem

I'm runining 1.1.14 and I just switched over to a new theme today. Now when I log in as the administrator it shows up top "Hello Ervin" and then shows me how man messages I have and the date and time below that. When anyone else logs in (I have no moderators, just me as the lone Admin) the log in fields at the top right and at the bottom of the page still remain as if they didn't log in correctly - but yet they are logged in and can access the forum just fine. Any clue as to why this would happen or how to fix it? Thanks.

Let me know if you need any information, I will post everything I can as fast as I can to help you out

I tried Search with no luck  ;D

there is the problem, you are not checking if the user is registered your checking if they have an avatar

search:
   if (!empty($context['user']['avatar']))

replace it with:
    if($context['user']['is_logged'])
