how to get deleted messages back?

Hello all
I use smf 1.11.

I have a big problem.
On my forum we have deleted old post, there are older than 5 month.

Is it possible to get this messages back again.
I have a week old database, and i have access to php my admin.
Can anyone explain, how to do?

You can either go back to the week old backup, and lose all messages posted after that.
Or you can accept that you have lost the old posts, and continue on from here.
You can not however, easily have both - You can't easily bring back the old posts, and retain the new ones.

noeyes, you should just restore the old db with a different name so as not to overwrite the current db. In your case, it depends if one week of posts is worth losing? On a rather busy forum, that would have been inadmissible, but in your case, it depends on your forum activities and your decision as admin, i guess. Then you can just copy the messages that you lost, but it would take a whole lot of work to extract these lost messages from the old db to insert them into the new db. My point is that you should just save the messages from the old db to a text file on your computer, as i assume you only want to read/keep them??

Thanks a lot.
But my users have telled me after i have removed the messages, that they want some of them back again, so i don't think, thats enough to take a text backup to my own computer.
