Got so many bots logged in, Is ther a bug on 1.1.14 captcha?

I got more than 20 bots logged in my site. I set captcha to the hardest mode and the registration must be approved manually, so I have to remove registration waiting list many times a day.

Is this means the spammer's bots can by pass the chaptcha's code? Or they are so good to decode all chaptcha images.

Captcha is almost useless now.  If the bot can't read the image, it gets bounced to a spam farm where monkeys sit at computers all day and read the codes for a couple of pennies per thousand.  Use the verification questions, or one of the anti-spam mods.

I am getting same problems. Is there any solution of this??? I have update smf. hardest cepatcha. Had saprate board for new members but spammers and bots are floding my forum. daily 20 new topics. I have also tried to ban their hosts name and ips etc but in vain. any solution of this???

Welcome to SMF You can always upgrade to SMF 2.0, which is more secure.

There are also a few good mods like httbl, stopforumspam, KeyCaptcha all require an API key wich you can get at there sites

Peoplesign has stopped all bots for me so far, I get an occasional human spammer that I have to delete but I don't think there's any way around that. I'm using 1.1.4 as well.
