question about bots on forums..

our forum is loaded with bots, but since installing smf 2.0, they have been unable to join... so far.

My question is, if I hid the forums from all guests (disabled guest access), would the bots eventually leave and find another forum to go after?

I was hoping if theirs nothing for them to "see", they would eventually not come back as often? I would hope anyway.

they might try to register just so they can still post spam as some forums once you register you get to see the boards you can not see as a guest.
