Ok, I am trying to create a restricted group for a couple of trouble makers. I am trying to allow them only access to two boards for emergencies and help with health related questions.
So, I set up a new group.
In this group I have selected to allow them to start a new post and reply to their posts only, and to read their PM's only.
I have it set that they cannot view anyone else's profile etc....ALL this is working ok...
This is my issue:
When I go under "edit member groups" and click modify, then open the "visible boards"; I have all unchecked; but the two I want them to see.

But I created a tester and put it in this group; and when I log into it,  they can see and reply to ALL boards.

So; why won't it restrict them to only the boards I have marked?

Did you activate the local board permissions?

If you don't know about local permissions, see here

I have it set as board permissions too, and by each board I have that this group cannot access these board, but they still can?

Illori

you need to set the visibility permission via the check boxes either when editing the board or editing the membergroup.

That's just it, I go to the group under:
ADMIN, MEMBER GROUPS, EDIT MEMBERGROUP,
I Select that Group, open the box that says VISIBLE BOARDS:
And I have checked ONLY those two boards.
EMERGENCY and VET CLINIC

Then I also went under each board, under the ADMIN
I select boards then I UNCHECKED that group, on all but those 2 boards,  as the instructions say
Note: if the member is any group or post group checked, they will have access to this board.

And I put the tester in the group, logged in and I can still post and see any of the boards.

Illori

then do your post count based groups have access to those boards? remove it from those groups.

Candace69

Remove access to the boards from the post count groups?
I don't want to restrict the post count groups, only one or two people that I don't want to access all boards due to causing issues....

Illori

there is no way to deny access to a board if one or more groups gives access that includes the post count groups.

Hi,

Having the same problem.

I may be able to remove the post count groups but would be interested what your workaround is?
