How do I make one person have posts approved in advance?

The only thing I can think of is to create a new group called probation or something, and set it's permission for pre-approval. Will that work? Is there an easier way? Thanks in advance!

As you created the thread in 1.x section,i assume you have 1.x forum,which doesn't have any approval system

Well then there's another reason I should upgrade to 2.0. Is there any danger installing it will mess up anything I have in place?
