Move one smf_members to another database via export/import

I messed up my original smf and reinstalled. I now have a back up copy so this won't happen again. I also found that many of my themes do not work well with my version 1.1.4

I went to my old database which is still a database in mySQL using myPHPadmin I tried to export the smf_members to a sql file and import that to the new database. It pauses and then just goes blank. Not sure if I am doing it right. Then I also tired a cvs but get an error when trying to import:

MySQL said:

Any way to get my members from my old database to my new one so I can have them in the smf I now have?

After looking back I could have just gone into admin but the screen was blank after applying a theme. I am new, but learning fast. Thank you.
