can i delete a banned member and still keep the info in the banned list?

i have a bunch of spammers that are banned.  i deleted the guy at the top of the list and then checked to see if his info was still on the banned list, and it was gone.  did i do this correctly?  it does not really matter, i guess, but i would like to simply delete these idiots because their presence on my board offends me.  honestly, there is no other reason.  i would like to delete their accounts and still maintain their info on the banned list to keep them from coming back.  is that possible?  or did i do something wrong.  thanks!  alan

if you ban the username then delete the user, the ban is deleted. you would have to ban more then just the username. better yet take a look at the anti-spam mods on the mod site

You may have forgotten to click on the "ADD" button when you banned that person? I have banned a bunch myself and then went into their profile and deleted the account but they are still on the ban list. I, like you hate even having their names on the site as members.
