Need some help edit welcome message and login in header

Hello, just notice a site having this setting on the welcome message, attached in bottom. I also want this on my site, but i need some help to make that work.
I run SMF 2.0 Final with Prince of Darkness theme.

All images is at the bottom.

Yes, i want to float the links for unread and new replies to the left. Keep the login and welcome on the right, in the same hight.
