Change topic's opening post URL to topic's URL

I want a mod that changes the URLs of the opening posts of any new topics, to the URLs of the full topics.

What I want is:

BEFORE

Opening post URL: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=444568.msg3123160#msg3123160

AFTER

Opening post URL: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=444568

Or with Pretty URLs:

BEFORE

Opening post URL: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/Change-topics-opening-post-URL-to-topics-URL/msg3123160

AFTER

Opening post URL: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/Change-topics-opening-post-URL-to-topics-URL

I reckon it's a good idea for navigation and SEO.

Anyone up for it?

I wasn't sure whether to post this here, or on the SMF Coding Discussion board, or both. I guess I'll wait a few days to see if I get any response here, otherwise I'll repost my request in the SMF Coding Discussion board, and if the moderators aren't happy they can just merge the two threads.
