Hello,

Firstly to get the $3 you must help me fix forum and get as much stuff as you can back. (Boards, posts etc)

I just installed the treasury mod and now it screws up saying. I also did the back up before I downloaded the treasury and still the same thing. Any help? I have tried deleting everything and giving it a clean re install but the same thing happens.

Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Please help? I have even tried upgrading. I don't want to lose my boards and posts and all.

Illori

please do not bump within 24 hours we are all volunteers and reply if and when we know the answer

check your file/folder permissions

How do I chmod? / what is chmod?

bennyaka

What do I change? I have just deleted the forum and uploaded anther another. Still the same error.

Illori

that is why you need to check your file permissions per the second link i put in my last post. you could ask put in a support ticket with your host but if you can fix it it might be faster.

bennyaka

I don't think it's the permissions since it was a mod that screwed it up. It was the treasury mod. All file permissions seems to be correct.

Illori

then ask your host to look into the issue, 500 errors are server side. you could also try posting in the mods support thread.

Did the mod create any entries in your .htaccess file?

bennyaka

Where do I find the .htaccess file? There is one in the packages folder this is what the code is.

<Files *>
Order Deny,Allow
Deny from all
Allow from localhost
</Files>

ziycon

You'll need to check the .htaccess file in the root of your forum directory.

is what I see.

Better contact the server administrator or find another hosting and try there.

How can an one installation of a mod cause so much damage? I doubt the server admin could do anything but surely there is a way to fix it without having to change hosts. I don't want to lose all my work on the forum. Posts, boards, permissions etc.

Before I got a similar problem with 2 SMF forums and the people here were very helpful. Don't give up, because I am sure some of the masters will be able to help you today or these days. Here are a lot of skilful people, who are able to help you.

frytec

try changing your files permission from 777 to 775, or 755, or lower

bennyaka

#20
I have no files that are 777.

frytec

I cant tell you exactly what files u have to chmod 755 or lower, but your issue is probably chmod related.
Checking the server error log will give you more information about the exact reason for the error and will save your time.

You can change ALL files and directories to chmod 755 and make a try.

ziycon

Unless the mod changed file permissions or the mod was uploaded with the wrong file permissions it wont be a permissions issue. Did you check the .htaccess file in the root of your SMF directory?

Even the smallest mistake in a .htaccess file can give you a 500 error and if the mod added any entries to the file simply removing them or fixing them will resolve a .htaccess issue.

bennyaka

Can you teamview me? Theres only a .htaccess in the packages folder. Is the SMF directory the public_html?

ziycon

If there's no file there then its most likely not a .htaccess file as the mod didn't create any entries. Request details from your host regarding the error.

Baring in mind I deleted everything and re uploaded with a fresh wipe of directorys.
