action=unread won't show unread posts anymore - where to look for error?

I know I should have been more cautious, but I made many mods by package as well as manually

some time along the line I lost the function to list unread posts by action=unread and action=unread;all

- action=unreadreplies still works!

Since I did not notice when exactly this got lost, I don't know wich mod is responsible, probably rather some hack i made myself manually

Also in the BoardIndex unread boards don't change the icon any more,* correction: this works on really unread topics, just not with topics newly marked as unread after having been read, so:

- the Board-Icon still changes to unread-icon with unread topics in the board
- the "NEW"-notification in the topic-list still shows.

I was hoping that someone knowing the code could point me in the direction as to which file I need to look at, it should be possible to spot the area where I changed something that with action=unreadreplies is still intact...

The function was lost before I added the "Show Number of Unread Posts on Index" mod

I had a similar problem, do you happen to have the "Hide Post Author" mod installed? I did and once I removed it I didn't have a problem anymore.

No, I did not use that mod; I looked through the code anyway but the places this mod changes don't look like they could cause my problem... What is interesting is that the Mod "Count unread topics on index" shows the right number of unread topics, but the action it links to (action=unread) shows no new posts... Meaning, the Board knows which Topics are new, but the request pulling them into the results-page does not seem to be able to fetch the data for the unread topics...

BTW The obvious places, Recent.php and Recent.template.php (called by action=unread from index.php) are as yet completely unmodified...

Oh, thank whoever, it DOES STILL WORK - however, with two limitations that are probably default behaviour:

If you mark a read topic unread again, it will not be listed

If you are a new member, unread topics from bevore your registration will be shown in the counter, but not be listed - not even with the flag "?all"

BUT if someone posts a new message or topic in the timeframe of your membership and this is initially unread, it will be listed.

With that I can live
