Groups / Permissions issue

Hello,

First of all, sorry for my bad english.

Well, I tell you now what I want to do in my forum and I hope some of you could solve my problem

I want to make a subforum that only can be viewed by some people. I know that can be simply done by creating a new group and assigning the permissions correctly to the subforum. But MAIN problem I have is: I have to change group to every user, everytime by myself. Then...is any way to set an "admin" to the subforum and then s/he can assign group to the user s/he wants (only change group into the group that  can see the subforum, and not others like moderator,admin etc...).

in 2.0 what you want can be done in 1.1.1* it can not be done without giving the person control over all the member groups.

Ok, so if I upgrade my forum to version 2.0 I'll be able to do it? Great.

Then I wonder, in general aspects...v2.0 I suppose is better than 1.1.*. I mean, there is any issue that should know before upgrading?

there are not really any issues with the upgrade just make sure you have a backup, a theme that works with 2.0 and mods that work with 2.0.

make them a moderator of the group then they can add/remove people as needed.

Thanks Illori,

It works great. But since I have upgraded to 2.0, I have spammers in my forum.
I don't really know how they do it, but I have captcha and  e-mail confirmation as registration security.

I don't know how to stop it.

take a look at the anti-spam mods on the mod site, also take a look at the built in anti-spam verification questions
