Post attachment layout...

Currently attachments in posts are layed out like so...

[]
[]

I want them like so --> [] [] [] [] []

I checked in display.template.php and I could not get anything to change, move, display differently, etc while modifying in the area that talked about attachments..

Could someone guide me in the correct direction as to where to find the layout code or the code controlling the display of attachments?

I hope you won't mind that I've moved your topic to a part of the forum where themes and theming are often discussed.  I'm hoping you'll find a better response to your question there.

That said, here's how I'd get started
1) Search in Display.template.php for attachments
2) Now you can see that the HTML for this begins with

<div style="overflow: ', $context['browser']['is_firefox'] ? 'visible' : 'auto', ';">';

And more code follows for creating the link to the attachment, as well as for displaying the image (if the attachment is an image), including the onclick javascript to change the size of the image when you click on it.

If I were trying to figure this out, I would probably begin using IE developers tools or firebug for firefox to mess with the styles for div.attachments. Then you can make any changes you desire in index.css.
