The thing about wap2 is -- it is designed for low bandwidth and/or low-res screens.

The WAP2 template is intentionally VERY different from the  "regular" one.  It is found in wireless.template.php
Adding Google Adsensee would be adding images back for users who might not be able to deal with them.

I think you will get more and better help on this in the "themes and graphics" board, where people discuss working with SMF output all the time.  I think you will benefit from an intro to php, which you can find at any tutorial site like w3schools.com.

Also, you will benefit from a tool that can search all the files in a directory.  This will let you find, for example, where "wap2" is used.
If you don't have any other developer's tools, you can use windows command line "find" command.  find /? for more information on how to use this command.  find  /N /I  "wap2" | more will be a very useful command to learn. It will help you find where you want to make a change.
