I'd like to customize my boards using my own background and banner images and make the various colors for the headers, subheaders, fonts, etc. all match the colors of the images I want. Would anyone happen to know of an easy way to do this without having to go through all the code to isolate and change those things?

The background and banner are fairly easy to change. You can edit the background image by modifying Themes/default/css/index.css, and specify your own banner in the admin center (Admin -> Configuration -> Current Theme), or, if you want it somewhere else, by editing Themes/default/index.template.php.

The remaining colors can also be changed by modifying the index.css file.

Hey Oldies, thanks for the help. I do know how to change the background and banner images. What I'm looking for is an expedient means of changing the basic colors of the headings, subheadings and font colors that are common to all SMF themes without having to sort through all those lines of code.

I could do it easily if I were familiar with the basic structure of the code, but I'm not :(.

Well, luckily, most, if not all, of those colors are in the style sheet for each theme. Do you have multiple themes on your site? What version of SMF are you running?

SMF 2.0 - here's the site: http://www.boomtown-osp.com/index.php

I just have that one theme by Aaron (Astronomy) I have used since the beginning, which I love. I just want to customize it a bit to suit the style of the content of my site. It's all in the .css style sheets?

Should be all in here:

If you have Firefox and Firebug you can do a lot of live editing to see the effects.
