I was wondering if there is an option for the birthdays to be displayed for members only as we have a good few legacy members that are still around but only once twice a year but are no longer members?

If not, would this be a possible mod to display only members birthdays?

Thanks

All Colours Sam

Do you mean the "Upcoming Birthdays:" thing under the Board index?

Thats the one.
So that only upto date members over the past year will be listed in up coming birthdays.

We have, non member or member.
I was looking to see if it was a non member the birthday is not listed as some of them go back atleast 2-3 years and these members are really not that active.

All Colours Sam

OK,  so only your members will see the Upcoming Birthdays?  guest cannot see it?

no.

All registered profiles will fill in birthdate if they wish, if they do it will display as their birthday on the actual date.
I was looking to see if it would be possible if only 'members' birthdays were displayed and 'non members' birthdays were ignored.

it sounds a little strange but as in past post, we do have legacy non member accounts that are not active that much over the years and we have a 3 year period before deletion.

Just wanted to show upto date member birthdays rather than old, possibly gone dates.

All Colours Sam

Ok, now im confuse,  please define "non members"

We have three lelels of access:

Non Menber - limited access to forum (Banter, for sale and wanted sections)
Member - 90% access of the forum (no access to admin&mods section)
Admin - Full access

All registered accounts can add date of birth, if they add it they will be indicated as Birthday on the correct date.

Is there a way to have the birthday anouncement selectable for non member, member or admin?

As I say, we have a 3 year rolling account, if you do not access in 3 years the account is deleted although in that 3 years your birthday will come up.

member will say happy birthdaya dn you will not be online to see it.

Mainly it is to save on post on the forum that are not needed and it will only celibrate members to the forum.

I hope that clears it up a bit......?

All Colours Sam

Im sorry, I couldn't understand you.

so this "non-member" users are actually registered users in your forum?

if the 3 year old accounts got deleted, then the birthday thing isnt gonna appear since there inst any account on the database.

You want it so you can turn off birthdays for certain membergroups. ???

Oldiesmann

Why not just delete the birthday info from their profile when you change their status to non-member?

That is exactly what I was looking for, that would be the cleanest way of achieving what I was looking for.

That is an option but it requires a mod to adjust profile.
Members do come back but some accounts do lapse for more that a year.
This would mean when they came back, adding their birthdate once again.

Is it possible to select separate members groups or would it be an acceptable/easy mod to carry out?

I guess not then.

Bigguy

I do not know how to do this myself but someone out there might so here is a free bump for ya anyway so more people see this.

baptie

Thanks for info & bump, added a few mods over the past year but this issue keeps cropping up.

Cheers again
