Have a look at Admin>Package Manager>Options.

In the box marked "FTP Server:", what do you have?

Although, I'm not sure what you mean by "smf package manager installs on my ftp root".

WHAT installs in the root?

its on site root see www, codfreaks.nl

Just make a print screen, what ftp shows and  attach here

it does not hurt to run what K@ suggested just to make sure everything is where it should be.

how can you tell that the mod is being installed in your root? have you tried any other mods to see if they install correctly?

coolking

Illori

and how can you tell they are installing in the root?

coolking

Look my path to forum is:
/home/*****/domains/codfreaks.nl/public_html

But it installs here:
/
Ftp root

Illori

ftp root is not a path nor folder, you are still not answering my question as to how you know it is installing there, as most mods modify files that exist in your install

Like ezportal the ezportal folder is on my / on ftp.
Btw 1 strange thing if i install avatars it works correctly.
