How do you change the height of the header properly?

At the top, where the logo is? Because when I add/replace my logo there, it expands automatically, and the background image (gradient) is cut off. How do you make it so the background image expands too? My logo is 45 px high, but let's say I want the header to be 50 px. Thank you
