Not letting me upgrade

That's a straightup .13 default install, with almost nothing on it.  Should be a no-brainer.  What have you tried to do so far?

I can't upgrade either. I'm getting the following error when I try to do a package install:

The package you tried to upload either is not a valid package or has become corrupted.

This has happened to me in the past on another forum and I had to have a support specialist do the install for me manually. I'd tried that as well. It's becoming frustrating for me and I think that it's probably something to do with my host rather than with SMF, but I'll be darned if they'll take responsibility for the fact that it's not working for me!

OK.. I don the upgrade and I am now getting this message...

Unknown column 'add_deny' in 'field list'

Is there any hope for me?
