Removing Child Boards from Board Index

Hi everybody. I did a quick search and couldn't find the answer to my specific question.

I'm running SMF 1.1.13. (I have been unable to update with the patch since I'm getting error messages. This has happened to me in the past and I'm about giving up.) I've tried the modification for the purposes of removing the child boards, but it appears that there is a problem with the language file that is preventing it from working the way that it should. What do I need to do to remove the child boards from the index page?

what exactly is the error message you are getting?

I tried again and it worked this time. I'm not getting an error; there are no words on the admin page for the mod, which I think means there's a problem with the language files. I've been having endless problems with SMF and hostgator. I've used SMF before and never had all these problems. This is the third board that won't upgrade

Then just add your BoardIndex.template.php file ,so we can try to help by removing child boards from main page
